A world of one’s own

We live under the same sky, but our understanding of the world is nonetheless always situated. Anne Cheng and Michaël Foessel reflect on the conditions for a common appropriation of knowledge, which thwarts its unequal circulation.

This year, the Night of Ideas questions the idea of a common world. Organized by the French Institute, it will take place on the night of January 26, 2017 and will bring together intellectuals, researchers and artists on five continents. The life of ideas joins the event through a series of interviews.
