Internet upsets the publishing economy. The marketing of e-books is a revolution undoubtedly comparable to the invention of the Codex, in the first centuries of our era, and that of the printing, between the XIe and the XVe century. In the digital age, the book that is made with paper and ink is doomed to disappear ? What will become of publishing houses and booksellers ? Are libraries always useful ?
Although they arouse concern, these questions call serene answers, because not only the book object and reading practices have already experienced important changes in the past, but the transformations of the present are not incompatible with the already existing structures. The fact remains that, with the emergence of digital, it is a new relationship that is established between societies and their cultural productions.
