The speakers wondered about the issues of local economic development and public-private partnerships (PPP) in a context of competition between territories. Public authorities may indeed be led to develop strategies to attract economic activities on their territory which lead to a race at least saying tax and bidding that can penalize local finances.
Thierry Madiès is a professor of economics at the University of Friborg. His research focuses on the public finance economy and the international economy.
