Can we trust the police?

The life of ideas and the CESDIP invite you to a debate, moderated by Fabien Jobard, between the authors of the file published on our site, around the theme: “ Can we trust the police ? “.

While the deterioration of relations between the police and society fuels the chronicle of news items, the debate will raise the question of the centrality of trust in the relationship between police and citizens, both in view of its acceptance and its effectiveness. The debate will also be an opportunity to ask what French social sciences can learn from this centrality, at the heart of the renewal of police studies in Great Britain and the United States today.

On the occasion of the publication of the file “ Citizens and their police “,

The life of ideas and the CESDIP organize a debate in the presence of:

  • Quentin Deluermoz (Paris 13 University)
  • Jonathan Jackson (London School of Economics)
  • Fabien Jobard (CESDIPUniversity of Saint-Quentin en Yvelines)
