It was during the XVe century that the different parts of the world have connected. Rather than telling this story from the point of view of a triumphant Europe, the collective work directed by Patrick Boucheron offers to decentralize our gaze, following the track of other possible globalizations.

Patrick Boucheron is a lecturer in medieval history at Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University. Specialist in urban and artistic cultures of Italy of XIVe And XVe centuries, he had just directed, in collaboration with Julien Loiseau, Pierre Monnet and Yann Potin, a work entitled History of the world at XVe century (Fayard, 2009). Nearly seventy historians participated in this collective adventure, which offers an ambitious journey through the places and times of globalization at XVe century, from the death of Tamerlan in 1405 to the coronation of Charles V in 1520. This work was inspired in particular by the achievements of the World History and connected history.
