Faced with more cautious artistic directions, faced with competition from the photo andIAwhat freedom is there still for the press drawing today ? For Sergio Aquindo who has worked for 25 years for the press, it is still possible to play finely playing the polysemy of drawing, especially in judicial chronicles.

Argentinian artist and author born in 1974, Sergio Aquindo has moved to Paris in 2001. Since 2003, he has been drawing for The world ; the book All is bad, newspaper of a press designer (Rackham, March 2025), brings together 200 drawings published mainly in The world. He followed the trial of the Bataclan attacks, and currently follows the trial Le Scouarnec still for The world.
He devotes the rest of his time to his personal work: graphic novels that articulate text and images. Mother Machine (Rackham, 2009), traces the journey of an unknown Argentine inventor, is an anarchist circles of the suburbs of Buenos Aires. In Harry & The Helpless Children (Rackham, 2012) is the course of American killer Harry Powers (who inspired the film The hunter’s night) and its multiple alias, which guide the narration. Ashes of men and bulletins (Le Tripod, 2016), in collaboration with Pierre Sanges, is a graphic and literary exploration around the painting Beggars by Pieter Bruegel. Her Atlas of known and unknown monsters (Editions du Chêne, 2020), takes the form of a catalog where creatures come from cinema, literature and world mythology. In 2023 he published his first novel, Rubble (Alma editor).
