Credit, an integration tool

The credit relationship is omnipresent in the economic field, but it is also essentially a social relationship. After reminding us of these points, Pierre-Cyrille Hautcoeur discusses the way in which credit can be a tool of integration, and not of exclusion, as well as the role of Central Banks in the credit offered to States.

Pierre-Cyrille Hautcoeur is currently Director of Research at theEHESS and Associate Professor at the Paris School of Economics. His research, which is essentially in the field of economic history, concerns in particular the evolution and political economy of financial markets.
