Family Vacation

we are on a boat trip down the Erie Canal


Hawina piloted the boat most of today


Our boat has a pirate flag flying


Willow handles the ropes when we are going thru the locks


My mother is reading Water for Elephants on this trip


Besides the locks, there are a number of lift bridges that have to raise for us


The locks lift us up the whole way to Niagara Falls


We pass all manner of boats, and some pass us


Willow is studying his chess game to play his half brother Fabian next summer


We visited the Reptile Guys


We are reminded of other family adventures - Amsterdam 2008
